My Gt Grandfather William Cutts, a Saddler and Harness Maker lived and worked in Town Street (now Main Street) Ollerton until 1896. His wife Elizabeth and son also William carried on the family business until 1918.
Another child of William and Elizabeth Emily married a John Baker and they too lived on Town Street until they are found, on the 1911 census, living at The Hall Ollerton whether this is "Ollerton Hall" or the building which is now the pub Ollerton House I'm not sure.
During a visit to Old Ollerton we bought a copy of the book published by your committee which also has some excellent photos and information about Old Ollerton, well done everyone!!

Enjoyed looking round yesterday and seeing the POW film. All very worthwhile. (Forgot to sign the visitors' book!).

I just wish I could have shared them with my mum (Sandra) who passed away last year. My mum loved things such as this and I'm sure she could have named alot of people.

As a former photographer on The Newark Advertiser but no longer living in the area, I remember Ollerton well, and have taken the liberty of copying two of your pictures for the yesteryear page on my discussion group, http://groups.msn.com/wordswebforum, with copyright acknowledged and a link to your site. If anyone would like to respond with comments of further information I would be very pleased to hear from them. Thank you.
